Richard Dawkins – Deceiving Schoolchildren

Richard Dawkins has expounded his ‘theories’ about evolution & his disbelief in God.

Dawkins fails to recognise that evolution is entirely consistent with creation – he engages in unscientific argument to support his faith that God does not exist.

Numerous correspondences have been sent to him requesting a concise ‘heads-of-arguments’ so that one can get some sense to the reams of unstructured arguments he puts across.

Barring one response confirming his faith that God does not exist he still refuses to provide heads-of-argument as to how he ‘scientifically’ reaches his conclusions of faith.

His documentaries have shown how he has deceived schoolchildren.

i admit i was surprised when i saw the alive! report yesterday which led me to the melanie phillips, spectator, report. my statement (below) qualified with the word 'appears' - i admit i was hedging because the reports seemed incredible - this from the contrast of your documentary stance to the suggestions in the reports.

my suggestions re alpha & other contacts were in good faith (oops sorry, used in generic not religious sense) to assist you in clarifying your arguments which i find confusing, because to me it appears you have confused the two issues (horizontal & vertical)

i would be interested in reading sam harris & christopher hitchen, and your book as well, if i could find a clear synopsis of the issues (i.e. heads-of-argument) to warrant reading.

if i want to read the bible i can find a HOST of synopsis', but not with those books you've recommended or with yours.

i would appreciate your assistance in this regard -> to provide a synopsis/heads-of-argument for each.

i can assure you that, as an engineer, that i have no desire to 'convert' you - only knowledge & understanding can do that- and only proper investigation can bring about knowledge & understanding

It appears from the referenced reports that you are rethinking your stance re evolution vs. God.

A good scientist will always investigate matters fully before making concrete statements.

May I suggest that you attend an Alpha course – you can websearch for one local to you – I strongly caution that you not be drawn on divisive denominational issues but investigate the faith (vertical) issues.

May I also introduce you to xxx xxxx who has compiled an excellent set of course notes that he uses for lecturing the Old Testament. xxx is an SA based attorney who has spent many years lecturing on the Bible & in real, pragmatic, terms & relevant to today’s World.

Despite my having faith before doing an Alpha course some 8 years ago, during which I was sorely tempted to walk out on numerous occasions but didn’t because I had committed to the full course, it was xxx’s lectures that put matters into perspective & gave clarity.

You can also contact Rosebank Union Church, Johannesburg & ask them for a set of recorded tapes of xxx’s lectures.

After you have gone through those I would recommend obtaining tapes & notes by yyy yyyy (also through Rosebank Union)

It is interesting to note that in the same Alive! paper that Benedict (Pope) is also now seeing the link between evolution & creation, admittedly his comments are biased toward Catholic doctrine. In my view much of denominational doctrines are in conflict with the Bible because they are largely politics based.

It is important to identify & understand the differences between catholic and Catholic – they are entirely different. The term catholic (universal) is the collective of those in faith (vertical) whereas Catholic is a subset of catholic with all their specific politics & divisiveness that all other subsets have, but simply with a host of different divisive issues.

Wealthy churches & large cathedrals/churches contradicts Christian faith

The Bible is about Faith/God, it is not the faith itself; it is His Story and contains much including history.

Get to understand the vertical issues then clarity regarding the horizontal issues becomes clearer and the link to evolution will become self-evident.

Richard Dawkins, in his programme ‘The Genius of Darwin’ (in which pupils from your school appeared), and other works, is deceiving schoolchildren & the public with his clever manipulation of science to wrongly undermine beliefs in Faith & God.

(available on the internet - Channel 4, 4oD, download software, play The Genius of Darwin)

I have challenged Richard Dawkins (see letter below) but he refuses, or does not have the courage, to engage in constructive, honest, debate.

Evolution is entirely consistent with the Creation of all that is around us – evolution is simply that part of God’s Creation that is in ‘auto-pilot’. It would be foolish to expect God to physically oversee every aspect of development just as it would be foolish to expect a plant operator to run continually a plant in manual mode rather than auto mode.

Richard Dawkins, in his other works, denigrates Faith by nit-picking over Religion & the Bible. Faith is the vertical relationship with God, Religion is the horizontal relationship amongst mankind and is fraught with politics, dishonesty & deceptions. The Bible explains part of the Faith & Relationship, it is NOT the Faith itself.

Arguing and showing discrepancies over religion does NOT disprove the existence of God. It is by Faith that one believes in God, and it is by communication with God that one confirms that belief.

Richard Dawkins would have us believe that what is around us happened by chance, that there was no Grand-Design. Just because we do not fully understand, even remotely understand, the Grand-Design does not mean that the Grand-Design does not exist.

In a similar way Stephen Hawking also refuses to engage in constructive, honest, debate regarding impossible theories such as 9,10, 11 dimensions and other Quantum errors. (see 4oD ‘Master of the Universe’)

The public are being deceived by a smoothie-blend of philosophy & mathematics that has spun into science-fiction, far away from science.

Richard Dawkins, like Stephen Hawking & other Quantum/Physicists, has ignored interaction with Engineering and has got lost in confusion.

This is not to denigrate the sheer brilliance of their constructive works.

People who rely on controversy for public awareness soon become swayed away from reality towards the dazzle & seduction of the world stage & spotlights. (Which is the reason for Nelson Mandela being the chalk to Mahatma Ghandi’s or John-Paul II’s cheese)

Popular misperceptions need to be corrected.

Corrections include:-Evolution does not disprove Creation, nor is it inconsistent with Creation, it is entirely consistent; e≠mc^2; theory of Relativity is probabilistically impossible, matter does not travel at the speed of light, Twin Towers were criminally imploded they did not collapse as a consequence of plane crashes.

The academic world has become grossly tainted & distorted through financial-power manipulations – Nobel Prizes are awarded for defective/deceptive/fraudulent exact & inexact science models

Whilst Richard Dawkins must be commended for his work in ‘evolution’ he must also be sanctioned for his deceptions & refusal to engage in constructive, honest, debate.

I feel, at least, that your school should be informed of the deceptions regarding Richard Dawkins’ refusal to engage in constructive debate & that his claim of gross inconsistencies between evolution & Creation are not founded, and are soundly challenged & disproved.

Dear Richard Dawkins

RE: God Delusion – previous correspondence – request for response.

I sent an email to you via your website email addresses some months ago but have had no response – unfortunately an appalling hp laptop & service from hp caused much data to be lost, hence cannot retransmit.

I was requesting that you provide a heads-of-arguments list regarding your ‘God Delusion’ book which, in my view, does not take a scientific approach in discussing the topic of God, Faith, Religion.

I also have concern regarding statements in the synopsis of ‘Enemies of Reason’ which was aired on Channel 4 last year, unfortunately 4oD are no longer able to transmit the programme at present – do you have heads-of-argument for this?

One of your principal arguments, as I interpret, is that people do not engage in rational debate hence people’s perceptions become skewed with false information/data which in turn skews societal behaviour. (Is this a fair interpretation?)

I would like to engage in rational debate with you regarding the distortions in your perceptions – but to make it constructive it would be a good approach to briefly state the heads-of-argument upon which your views are based.

A prompt response would be appreciated as many people are, in my view, being confused by your views which are getting an unfair & biased airing.
