BUT, Science is assessed with data – and data can readily be manipulated, as we see with corpOrgCrime - and data itself is NOT Evidence. Analysis of data can determine CORRELATION of a set of measurements to a perceived phenomena, but CORRELATION does NOT prove Cause → Effect.
Even when data 'convinces' of Cause/Effect, there often occurs later evidence that disproves.
An immediately visible Cause/Effect that has been 'PROVED' over millenia is that of a data set of repeated observations:- that if you, on earth, let an object loose in free air that it will fall to the ground due to 'gravity' (we call it 'gravity', but we don't know what exactly it is) – those zillions upon zillions of observations is an EMPIRICAL data set, and it is through the STATISTICAL 'CERTAINTY' that we can say there is Cause/Effect.
